Thirty has always sounded so old to us...but this year both Jared & I turn 30! Jared's birthday was on Tuesday and he celebrated in a big way. For three years, Jared has been trying to convince me of letting him go bungee jumping. This year, I was finally "ok" with it. I figured that if I didn't give my ok now, that I would have to hear about it all year! Why would a father of three kids want to do that? I guess you'll have to ask Jared that. Here's a video of Jared jumping head first into his 30's:
Jared also got some nice gifts. He got a cordless 18 volt drill and flashlight. Also, a 2002 Toyota Corolla with only 50K miles on it. His former car, a 1991 Corolla, died on the way to work (it started to throw a rod in the engine) and left us without a second car for 5 1/2 weeks. It was like the good ole days of coordinating with one car. Many blessings happened to allow us to purchase a much nicer car than anticipated. Here's Jared holding Lance in front of his new wheels:
Yesterday we finally got around to thinking about selling our '91 Corolla. We listed it on Craiglist Saturday afternoon and within minutes the phone started ringing off the hook. I couldn't believe it: this car was not reliable since it needed a new engine. We must have listed it for a very low price because five short hours after we listed the car, it was sold! That's definitely one of the perks of living in a large metroplex: it's easy to sell things.

Happy Birthday Jared! Wow, 30 is sooo old! Just kidding. I can honestly say I have NEVER wanted to go bungee jumping. Was it all you hoped it would be?
Wow, sounds like a great birthday
I agree with you, Steph, Crazy! I went bungee jumping once and it was too much like committing suicide for my taste. I hated it. Tell me you at least upped Jared's life insurance policy before the big jump. I really have to get on Craig's List. How do you figure out how to price something?
Becky, for Craigslist, I do a search to see if there is something similar out there and price it accordingly. Usually I price it higher than I'm ok selling it for because EVERYONE who uses Craigslist will talk you down in price. They feel better if they do, I suppose. So set you limit in your head and list the item for $10-20 more than that. I usually price my items low so I can sell them fast!
Congratulations Jared! I am glad we could enter the 30's club so close together. It is a great place to be. I am jealous of the bungee jumping though!
Happy Birthday! Sorry I'm late to congratulate you. How was the bungee jumping? It looks SO much fun!!! Chantelle
