My Mom is simply amazing! I love her! She's creative, kind, loving, and very generous!! My Mom started a tradition that is over the top. When one of her grandkids turns 8, they get the "8 Days of Happy Birthday". Starting 8 days before they turn 8, they get to open a gift (or gifts). Dallin got so lucky as to be turning 8 this year. It has been so fun to see him open a gift everyday. I have felt the love of my mom in what she bought or made him. Turning 8 is so special since it's the year that Dallin gets to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mom emphasized how important she feels it is and in turn has this awesome tradition. May the tradition live on!!!

I agree. Mom is amazing and I love her more everyday (if that is possible). We have an amazing Dad, also. 8 days of Happy Birthday is incredible, with homemade gifts and a lot of time involved. Our home loves the tradition!
Lindsey says, "I liked the presents that Grandpa & Grandma gave me. My favorites were my beaded Salt Lake Temple and my scrapbook. And a picture of my family and a necklace to go with my baptism dress." We are happy are getting baptized, Dallin.
Wow, thanks for the compliments girls! We have wonderful children (spouses too) and grandchildren. We love the "bonding" that comes with the 8 days of HB. Thanks for your comment too Lindsey--you're fun to make things for.
What a fun tradition! I'll have to pass that on to my mom since Taylor is the only one of her grand kids to already turn eight. Or maybe I'll just do it myself! :) Can you believe how fast they've grown?

It's such a neat idea she does, with the 8 days of HB! My mom used her idea with our first 8-year-old, and he absolutely loved it. I felt that it really helped us gear up spiritually for that beautiful baptism day, too.
That is a really great family tradition that you will have to carry on as well.
