Spy Birthday Party

It's amazing how fast April went and now half of May. I'm going to attempt to catch up on all of the wonderful events of the past month & a half. First I'll start with Dallin's 8th birthday party...

It all began with a non-typical birthday invitation that was too large to mail and had to be hand delivered... inviting Dallin's friends on a secret mission (click to enlarge and read inside):
The briefcase cake that I made for Dallin! Beware, you never know what's inside....

As an agent in training, they found metal objects in the cake. Those objects turned out to be coins. Whoever found the only quarter won a prize. Stephen, on the left, was the lucky one to win a disguise! I'm sure you're all dying for that prize. Right!?!

Each of the boys made their own pizza. I was surprised that at least one boy didn't want any pizza sauce. That sounds yucky to me (and it didn't look too great). But the others made yummy looking pizzas. Dallin invited 8 friends and every one of them came!

Alexa enjoyed hanging out with the boys!

This is the pizza I made for Jared & I. It was so good (and it's quite easy to make).

After the conclusion of many agent training games (obstacle course, pop the water balloon air bombs aka "dismantle the bomb", candybar/dice/spy disguise game), we had a treasure hunt that had difficult clues like a mystery. Then once all of the clues were found, they had to unscramble the letters to form to words. Once they figured that out, they were to find the man in disguise and tell him the key words:

I've barely scratched the surface of the three hour action packed party. It was really fun and lots of work! But it was worth every minute of it when Dallin talked about it so much and I even got phone calls from two of the moms afterwards saying "He had such a great time that he wants a spy party for his next birthday party!"

Wow---how creative! And, reading about the "coins" in the cake sure brought back some great memories of growing up & cake time! :-)
