Greek Food Festival fieldtrip

I'm trying to do as much with Dallin & Alexa before the baby comes. So for the first time, I was a volunteer on a fieldtrip. I even rode the bus with all of the kids and believe it or not, it was fun. Dallin was so thrilled that I was with him for the day! I hope that excitement continues! :)

This is Mrs. Gerhart, Dallin's AIM (Gifted) teacher. She's such a nice lady.

Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, TX

Dallin & his buddy Riley looking at all of the Greek artifacts (and showing their huge muscles). Maybe we should call them one of the Titans or even Cronos, the oldest Titan!

Another view of the church

Paintings on the interior of the church. A tour guide explained everything to us and it was very interesting. I thought it was beautiful and the symbolism was interesting. Of course, I was comparing to our church (LDS) and couldn't help but see that while they had some doctrines correct, there were some ideas that were certainly wrong.

Below: They decorate this alter every Good Friday. This is Dallin's AIM class pictured with the tour guide. She did an amazing job at encouraging good questions and answering them politely!

Following a most delicious Greek lunch of 1/4 chicken, Greek salad with Feta cheese, and more (a first for Dallin & I to eat Greek food), the kids learned some Greek dancing. For a video, just watch "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" -- haha!

I feel so blessed that I got to spend one-on-one time with Dallin. He's so fun and silly! Love him!

Looks like you two had a lot of fun! So was the Greek food to your liking?

How is it possible at our age (which age I will not post) that you have never had greek food before? Not even at the mall? Come on. You're killing me. How did you like it?

So glad you could go with Dallin on his field trip. I enjoyed the ones I went on with our kids. Greek food--I'd like to try it, sounds good!
