Gum necklace

Alexa loves gum more than anyone I know. Well, maybe not more than me. I don't like keeping gum in stock anymore because every hour I hear "Mommy, can I have some gum?" I reply "I just gave you some." Then Alexa will reply: "I threw it away in the garbage and need more." Then this repeats numerous times during the day. Alexa has always been good about throwing her gum away. However, she kept one piece of ABC gum outside in her playset. She made a necklace with it and was surprised that the necklace became part of her hair.

That's right: Alexa had gum stuck to the back of her hair. It was a sticky mess. She came inside to show me her hair and I was super busy getting ready for Jared's arrival home from work since it was his birthday. She had to wait for several hours (much to her dismay) before I could get the Dis-solv-it out and put the greasy substance in her hair. The gum (and lots of her hair) combed out, thank goodness!

Call me crazy but I just bought her lots more gum on Friday night (the incident happened on Tuesday the 25th). I can only handle so many requests for gum before I give in! Since I bought more gum, Alexa has learned how to blow bubbles for the first time. It makes her VERY happy. Email me if you want to see the 1 min. 46 sec. video. Be sure to ask Alexa to blow you a bubble the next time you see her!

You are such a sucker. I hope you don't regret giving in to her requests for gum. I guess if I ever see her at church with a funky haircut then I will know what happened.

Wow Steph, cute blog! Your kids are adorable. You are way nicer than me, I never let my kids have gum. We had an incident in the car a few years ago and that was the end of it. I never did get all of the gum out of that carpet. Lucky for me I got a new van :)

Gum is definitely something associated with Stephanie! You always had the Extra 'green' gum. Spearment maybe? She has your genes!

Your blog is cute. Thanks for sending me the link. I am so glad that my boys don't like gum.

When Dallin & Alexa came to play with KC yesterday, I said "Alexa, I hear you put gum in your hair" and she said "no, I didn't do that, mommy put it there, I don't know how to do that, mommy did it!!" Shame on you trying to blame your sweet daughter... heehee
