Goodbye 20's, Hello 30's!

This card says it all: "With sympathy on the loss of your 20's" I'm surprised I wasn't sent black balloons with the card! :)

So I had to celebrate a new decade in a BIG way. I went and rode the Skyscraper in Dallas. Watch the short video to see it in action. You can hear my "screaming" as it keeps going round and round. I felt very safe on it though. The scary part was when it was stopped in the air at 165 feet up. I had a good view of Dallas and all the surrounding area during that time!

My sweet husband took a day off work for my birthday, and my younger sister Ashley flew to Texas to stay the week. We all went to Eisenhower Lake on the Texas/Oklahoma border. It has a small beach that we went to.

Lance & Stephanie

Jared & the kids enjoyed skipping rocks across the water. Jared's best was 8 rock skips! He even skipped it from one edge of the water and across to the side of the cliff where the rock would shatter. Who knew that skipping rocks could be so entertaining!

Dallin & Ashley walked in the 60 degree (cold!) water.

My seven-year-old Dallin!

Ashley, Dallin, Alexa & Jared

Lance loved being outside. He turned 6 months old this week!

Here I am with most of my gifts. I got a Professional KitchenAid for my main gift. Ashley & I have already made cinnamon rolls, breadsticks, rolls, and cookies with it. I LOVE having it.

Jared & the kids made me peanut butter cup brownies. Yummy! We didn't have enough candles on hand so the 10 or so random candles is what we used. It was a fun day! Ashley & Becky wished me a happy birthday on their blogs too. Thanks to all of my friends and family who wished me a happy birthday and to those who gave gifts.

Looks like you had a great 30th birthday. I hope I can celebrate mine with half as much style. You're lucky that your sister was able to fly out and join you and that Jared could take the day off. That Skyscraper thing looks horribly scary. It looks like it could just break at any moment and send you flying through the air. I don't know if I could do it.

I know you don't take after me doing the skyscraper ride--way too high and scary for me. Loved your Blog update, as usual.

Looks like such a fun week! And I'm totally jealous of your kitchen-aid! I think I'll add it to my Christmas list! I've been 30 for a whole 6 months now and am surviving. It's not so bad! Welcome to the club!

What a fun birthday and an amazing way to celebrate! I'll have to get details from you about the sky scraper. It sounds AWESOME! And could I be any more jealous of your kitchenaid!

Well, even though I'm embarassingly late, happy belated birthday!

a little late and slow, sorry . . . BUT . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I can't believe that we're at the big 3-0 this year. Holy cow.

So, things have been CRAZY, traveling all over the nation and looking for jobs in Provo (Rob starts grad school in August).

Lots to catch up on. Sorry I've been a SLACKER!
