Alexa's Preschool Graduation

Alexa did her first and only year of preschool this past year (she starts Kindergarten in August). I partnered with three other moms (that went down to two moms in January) to teach preschool. We focused on a letter and a number each week and had it two days a week. Alexa LOVED it! Pictured above is Alexa, Kate Peterson, and Bradley Fastnaught.

Alexa loves to "mother" Lance.

Here everyone is watching the 15 minute video slideshow that I made. It incorporated almost every project/craft/coloring page they did throughout the year and was set to music. It took a LONG time to put together but turned out really great! :) By the way, I used Windows Movie Maker (came with my Vista computer) to make it. It was my first time and it's a pretty easy program to figure out.

In addition to watching the slideshow from the year, the kids sang songs. This one is really cute since it teaches them to count by 10s.

And the last video is singing "Days of the Week". We had two versions of that song; this is the one to the tune of the Adams' family. Congrats preschool graduates!

For the longest time, Alexa said that she didn't want to go to Kindergarten since she didn't want to get the 5 shots she needed. I tried every sort of bribery but to no avail. But then....Dallin came home from his Valentine's Day party with tons of valentine's and candy. Alexa is a magnet for sugar. From that moment on, she wanted to get her shots so she could start Kindergarten the next day! I expected her to chicken out when we went to the doctor. She kept to her word and didn't cry or move when they gave the 5 shots. Amazing! She did take me up on the several bribes afterward, one of them being an icecream cone from Braum's. Alexa's looking forward to her 5th birthday that will also be her first day of Kindergarten!

First of all, Alexa is still a nursery age kid to me and probably always will be since I was one of her nursery leaders. I can't believe that she will be in kindergarten. That is crazy.
And I love that little song about the days of the week. I will have to start singing it with James. He will get a kick out of it.
