For Memorial Day weekend, we headed off to Houston to meet two new nephews and a new niece. They were all born around the same time one year ago. It was a fun weekend and we got to see all but one of Jared's siblings! One of the days we went to Stewart Beach on Galveston Island (it's 1.5 hour drive from Houston). We hadn't been there since before Hurricane Ike occured last Fall. The island was practically destroyed. There were still a ton of boarded off buildings even. Overall, though, the island looked pretty good. It was fun hanging out at the beach all day. The picture above (L to R): Jennifer holding Micah (one year old that day), Kelley, Neil holding Zachary, Jared, Dallin, me holding Lance, and Alexa.

Jared's cousin that's Dallin's age, Peter, came to the beach with us too. So did three other of Jared's cousins.
Lance didn't want to go in the water so he loved drinking (spilling) water.
The last time we were at this same beach was when Alexa was a baby.
Lance's favorite thing was playing in the sand.

I can't get over how big Lance is now. One year makes such a big difference.
Sure wish we could have been there! My kids love the beach! I love all of the great pictures you got of everyone- that's a great group shot. Save it for the next calendar!
